Respite Care
A break for families and carers, and a good time for the person you care for, across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter.

A Break That Works for Everyone
Time to rest. Support you can trust.
Caring for someone is a big job. Respite gives carers time to rest, work or look after themselves, while the person they care for is supported by a familiar support worker.
Respite can be a few hours at home, an outing in the community, or a short stay in one of our homes when a room is available. Regular or one-off, we plan it around your family.

Common Questions
Respite questions we’re asked most
Does the NDIS pay for respite?
Respite can be funded through an NDIS plan, often from the Core supports budget. Short stays away from home are called short term respite (formerly Short Term Accommodation, STA). Check your plan, or ask your Support Coordinator what it allows. Read our guide to short term respite
Can respite be regular?
Yes. Many families book respite on the same day each week or fortnight, and add one-off respite when they need it.
Do you have a room for a short stay now?
It depends on our homes at the time. Call us and we will tell you what is available. See our homes
Which areas do you cover?
Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter. On the Central Coast we offer in-home and community respite. Make a referral
