Individualised Living Options (ILO) is a flexible NDIS funding category that supports you to live in a setting of your choice — whether that's your own home or in a shared arrangement — with support designed entirely around your goals.
Unlike SIL, ILO puts you in the driver's seat. You decide the living arrangement, and our team works with you to build a support structure that fits your life — not the other way around.

In-Home Care
ILO and in-home care work together
Most people we support under ILO also receive in-home care — the practical, everyday help that makes living independently actually work. That might be support with showering and dressing, medication prompting, cooking and cleaning, or simply someone reliable turning up at the same time each day.
You don't need an ILO arrangement to receive in-home care from us. We deliver in-home support across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter on its own, whether you live alone, with family, or in your own rental.

What is ILO in the NDIS?
Individualised Living Options (ILO) is NDIS funding for support that is built around how and where you want to live. You might live on your own, with a housemate, or with a host who shares their home. The support is designed around you, rather than you fitting into an existing house or roster.
Is ILO the same as SIL?
No. SIL (Supported Independent Living) is usually rostered support shared between people living in the same home. ILO is more flexible and can mix paid support with informal support from housemates, family or friends. Which one suits you depends on your needs and goals, and some of our homes are open to both.
How do I get ILO in my NDIS plan?
ILO usually starts with an exploration and design stage, where you work out what living arrangement would suit you. The NDIS then decides whether ILO funding is reasonable and necessary for you. Talk to your planner, Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Support Coordinator about adding it at your next plan review.
Can you help me find a Support Coordinator?
Yes. We don't provide support coordination ourselves, but we can help you connect with the right Support Coordinator, or recommend a few independent options for you to choose from. The choice is always yours.
