Guide
How to change NDIS providers
You can change providers at any time. Here is how to do it smoothly, and how to find a new NDIS provider near you, in five plain-English steps.
The 5 steps
Talk to your current provider first
If something isn’t working, you can ask your provider for changes. You can bring someone with you, like your Support Coordinator, your my NDIS contact, a family member or another person you trust.
Check your service agreement
Your agreement says how much notice you need to give. You may be charged a fee if you end the agreement without giving the agreed notice.
Find your new provider before you leave
Line up the new provider first so there is no gap in your support. You can search the NDIS provider finder, ask your Support Coordinator, and meet a few providers and ask questions before you sign anything.
Tell your current provider
Ask if they have a form or process for ending services, and check there are no payments still owing. If you have a Support Coordinator or plan manager, let them know too.
Update the my NDIS portal
Agree with your provider who will end the service booking or provider relationship in the portal.
